Group name: Bournemouth Happy Mondays Ramblers
This group is a part of Dorset Area.
We are primarily a social group and our walks end with an optional lunch at a local pub or cafe.
COVID: Our walks areall on hold. As soon as we are able our walks will resume.
Our walks start Monday 10:00 (except bank holidays) within one hour's drive of Bournemouth - so mostly East Dorset and the New Forest. Walks are typically from 4 to 8 miles, with occasional day walks. The pace is moderate with brief stops as needed. The distance and level of difficulty vary with the route and will be indicated in the route description.
This is a great way to get outside, make new friends and discover how walking boosts your health and happiness. It's a typical burn of 650 calories - though you may put some back on at lunch!
Each week, usually on Friday, an email is sent out with details of the walk for the following Monday. Send us your email address if you want to go on the distribution list - please be aware that other walkers will see your email address.
You are very welcome to join us for up to three taster walks, before becoming a Ramblers member. Your membership helps the Ramblers who are doing a lot to protect and open up paths throughout Britain. As a member you also benefit from liability insurance - click here to download details.
If you are going to attend any of our walks, please text or email the Walk Leader the day before the walk - this is in case of late cancellation or change of route.
Please review our Walking Guidance page to make the most of your walk.
Sorry, but our walks are not suitable for children. Well behaved dogs are welcome.
COVID: We all need to take extra steps to stay safe from Covid-19. Dorset is currently in Tier 2 and we are currently walking only in Dorset - please do not attend any walks if you are in Tiers 3 or 4. Groups are limited to a maximum of 30 people, including the walk leader – please contact the walk leader in advance. Before coming on a walk, please take some time to read the Ramblers guide for Walkers.
