Our stretch of the jurassic coast takes in Lyme Regis in the west through to Charmouth, Bridport, West Bay, Burton Bradstock and Abbotsbury, and along Chesil Beach to Portland.
The stunning, quiet countryside stretches from Lambert’s Castle and Forde Abbey in the west across Marshwood Vale to Broadwindsor and Beaminster, and on to Evershot, Maiden Newton, Cerne Abbas and Dorchester. But we often stray into East Devon and South Somerset, as well as other parts of Dorset.
No fewer than eight national trails criss-cross our area: East Devon Way, Jubilee Trail, Liberty Trail, Macmillan Way, Monarch’s Way, River Parrett Trail, South West Coast Path and Wessex Ridgeway.
Breathtaking views are provided by countless rolling hills including: Golden Cap (the highest point on England’s south coast), Thorncombe Beacon, Lambert’s Castle Hill, Pilsdon Pen, Eggardon Hill, Hardy’s Monument and Maiden Castle. Many are topped by iron-age hill forts.
