26th December

Our last walk of the year took us alomg in the rain to Hantor Hill. The fog cleared as we got to the top. A further climb amd we had lunch on the top of Hergest Ridge accompanied by the sun. This was followed by mulled wine and apple juice when we arrived back in Kington.

18th December

An atmospheric walk out of Kington and around Lyonshall. One of Kington's Six Great Walks (almost).

11th December

A lovely walk led by David out of Shobden. Some intrepid exploring required to get around a fallen tree.

9th December

Lunch/coffee stop on our midweek meander around Aymestry

A bracing walk from Monaughty with lunch on Llan Fawr

13th November

Today we completed the series of walks led by Eileen and covering the whole of the Mortimer Trail from Ludlow to Kington. We started and ended the walk in Kington, heading out along the Offa's Dyke path and returning along the Mortimer trail finishing at the Place de Marines in the centre of Kington.

6th November

A fantastic windy walk starting at New Radnor. We walked uphill, down dingles and to a watery waterfall, Water Break's it's neck. A large group kept together by Shirley and Emlyn.

Midweek meander from Leominster

30th October

A beautiful sunny walk from Gladestry up and around Hergest Ridge. Autumn colours are still looking stunning and the air was beautifully crisp and clear.

28th October

Our midweek meander was from Wigmore today.

23rd October

There was a good turn out for the AGM today. We had a morning walk from Orleton, very much in the centre of the Mortimer Group's patch so it had to include a section of the Mortimer trail. This was followed by the AGM and a pub lunch at the Maidenhead pub.

Todays midweek meander followed one of Eardisland village's Memorial walks.

This was the seventh in our series of walks taking in the Mortimer Trail led by Eileen. A lovely circular walk started and ended in Titley.

4th September

A walk from Llanfihangel with beautiful views and a visit to Black Yatt. Led by Diane.  

2nd September

Another lovely midweek meander in the Mortimer Forest. 

28th August

A lovely walk led by Margaret from Chapel Lawn in the Redlake valley to Black Hill.

25th August

A midweek meander led by Eileen from Lyonshall

A lovely midweek meander starting and ending at the Swam Brewery in Leominster.

14th August

A lovely walk around Brown Clee. It took us to Abdon Burf, the highest point in Shropshire and then down to Nurdy Bank Hill Fort.

12th August

A lovely mid week meander along the River Lugg from Mortimer Cross and through some woods.

7th August

We enjoyed another great walk with a rewarding section on Hergest Ridge. The company was great and we modified the walk slightly to suit the weather so the heavy rain failed to daunt our spirits.

31st July

A beautiful walk heading north through the woods from Knighton and returning along the Offa's Dyke path. Stunning views in all directions from the ridge.

29th July

Another big turnout for our midweek meander. leaving from Kimbolton Village Hall we had fine weather for another lovely walk.

24th July

Lovely weather for a walk from Dorstone to the top of Vagar Hill, taking in the Three Rivers Walk.

17th July

A very sunny and hot walk on and around Brilley Mountain. Beautifully led by Donald who ensured lots of shady rest stops. 

10th July

A walk from rCaven Arms led by Lynn. A warm and sunny day finishing with tea and cakes at the Discxovery Centre

3rd July

A lovely walk around Cowlod and Llan Evan Dingle. Beautiful weather.

2nd July

Midweek meander along the Herefordshire trail and River Lugg starting and ending at the Swan Brewery near Leominster.

26th June

A lovely walk starting out from a cloudy Llanthony in the Vale of Ewyas. Margaret took us up to Bal Mawr where we followed the ridge to the Blacksmith's Anvil. As we started our descent to Cape;-y-ffin the cloud started to lift.

A walk around Whitney-on-Wye. Great vies of the Black Mountains in the distance. In anticipation of next week.

12th June

A walk over Wapley Hill led by Eileen. We encountered several interesting styles.

5th June

A beautiful, mainly sunny, walk from Gladestry led by Margaret. We walked along the Offa's Dyke path to the summit of Disgwilfa Hill and back via Huntingdon.

A walk on the Mortimer way on and around Shobdon Hill. Led by Eileen.

First of our midweek meanders out from Leintwardine.

Another lovely walk led by Diane starting at Craven Arms. The sun did shine.

Two walks led by Joyce and Eileen from Kington up and around Hergest Ridge.

Margaret led the walk from Bucknell. She adapted the walk keeping to lower ground due to the weather. We had light rain on and off but it was a beautiful walk.

1st May 2021

Malcolm led us on a walk from Lingen up Harleys Mountain and along the Herefordshire trail. A few spots of rain but home before the hail set in.



24th April 2021

A walk around Aymestry led by Eileen. Lovely dappled sunshine throygh the woods and along the river. Bluebells just starting to flower.

 

17th April 2021

A beautiful walk led by Donald, heading south from Knill and walking around Herrock Hill, Rushock Hill and Bradnor Hill. The sun shone all day.
