Other Walking Organisations

In addition to the walks run by Ramblers groups, many other organisations run walks within our Area. A search of “walks in Hertfordshire” (or Barnet / Enfield / Haringey) will bring up a range of led walks and walking routes. Particularly useful are:

Walking for Health: supports health walks across the country (short and over easy terrain, open to everyone but especially aimed at those who are least active.) You will find Walking for Health programmes in Hertfordshire,  Enfield and Haringey.

Countryside Management Service in Hertfordshire provides:

  • Walking for Health walks in each District
  • “Walks and more” programme of events
  • Walking routes for independent walking across the County

Ramblers Walking Holidays

Ramblers Walking Holidays operates group walking and activity holidays in the UK and all around the world.  It is an independent business with close links to the Ramblers, providing charitable funding for Ramblers projects.  To book holidays, take a look at their website, or give them a call on 01707 331133 for more details or to order a brochure.

Herts and North Middlesex Area has registered for the RWH Walking Partnership.  The Partnership provides direct financial contributions to local walking groups to help with organising group walks, encouraging people to get out walking, helping to clear and improve footpaths, providing equipment to help walkers etc. When you book a holiday , please quote the Area name. We will then receive a contribution of £10 per person on UK holidays, £20 per person on short haul holidays, and £30 per person on long haul holidays. This extra funding could really make a difference to us!

Ramblers Walking Holidays also provide great holidays for Private Groups. Download a leaflet about it or visit the Private Group page on their website.
