About us

Although members joining the Ramblers' Association are only automatically allocated to this Group if they live in Royston or villages in Hertfordshire with an SG8 postcode, many members from elsewhere including Buntingford andRoyston Ramblers group logo South Cambridgeshire regularly walk with us. We welcome members from places further afield, who enjoy walking with this small, friendly group. Prospective members are always welcome - so why not join us on one of our walks?

New walkers are welcome. If you need advice on what to wear or what to bring, please call the walk leader or any committee member. On morning walks and evening walks, we shall finish at a public house. On longer walks a stop will be made at a public house at lunchtime, unless indicated otherwise. The leader will have forewarned the public house that we are coming and will know whether or not we have permission to eat our own food. Own drinks must never be consumed either indoors or in the garden and please patronize the public house if you have used their car park.

If you have not yet joined the Ramblers’ Association, please ask Lesley (01763 273463) or David (01763 242677) for an application form or you may join through the main Ramblers website: www.ramblers.org.uk If you wish to be allocated to Royston Group, please enter ROYSTON on your application.

Please do not go into a pub in muddy boots. Houghwood Manufacturing Co., Red Barn Road, Billinge, Wigan WN5 7UA (01744 894435) sell overboots @ £9 per pair + £1.32p postage.

Whilst every care is taken in planning rambles, participation is at your own risk.

To reduce the number of cars on walks, please meet at Royston if possible. It is suggested that passengers may wish to make a contribution towards petrol.
