minutes of the COMMITTEE MEETING 18/1/16

1. Apologies. All present.
2. Minutes of last meeting. All agreed.
3. Matters arising. None
4. Footpaths issues
David has a copy of the latest blue book – rules of the countryside and Rights of Way.
Martin thought a summary of key points would be useful. David stated there are 4
meetings a year of Footpath secretaries. Alan E would like an overview of the basic
legislation. David suggested we could ask Area for a speaker at the next AGM.
David also has definitive maps.
Big Pathwatch initiative now closed. David has done 20 squares.
5. Area meetings report.
David reported 2 diversions: 1) Rushingwells – people not using the proper FP.
2) Barley 14 – barns converted to houses with gardens behind them – path diverted
behind the gardens.
Also in Barkway – get rid of a cross field path – 1 end of Barkway to other to the
Recreation Ground alongside stream (currently a permissive path) David is keeping
tabs on this.
6. Budget 2015/16.
It was agreed that Eric would book Reed Village Hall again next year for the Christmas
walk and bring and share lunch.
7. AOB.
Alan E felt publicity needs to aim at people at point of retirement.
