The Cathedral City of Canterbury is a perfect centre for walking. Two long distance paths go through the city, the North Downs Way and the Stour Valley Walk and the Saxon Shore Way passes along the Whitstable Oyster Coast.
Canterbury Area offers a diverse variety of walking, including downland, marsh, woodland and coast. We try to offer two walks on Sundays, one long (10 miles) and one short (5 miles), led by local members. We also organise some mid week walks as well as social events and holidays for members to enjoy.
Advantages include, a great way to get outside, make new friends and discover how walking boosts your health and happiness. You’re very welcome to try walking with us, or to get involved in looking after paths and green spaces and opening up new places to explore.
