Group name: Tweeddale

This group is a part of Lothian & Borders Area.

The Tweeddale Group is an active and friendly group with a varied all-year-round programme of walks, usually held on a Sunday.  We walk mostly in the beautiful and peaceful Scottish Borders, although we do sometimes go further afield. We have around 100 members, but individual walks generally attract between 8 and 20 walkers. Our membership comes from a wide area including the Borders, Midlothian and Edinburgh.

We usually have two trips away each year to other areas of Scotland or northern England. We also have a summer social event and a Christmas lunch, both including a short walk beforehand.

If you think you might enjoy walking with us, please feel free to join us a couple of times to try us out before committing yourself.

Email list: We have a mailing list which you are welcome to join by clicking here to send an email to register on the list. You will then receive emails with information on forthcoming walks and other appropriate issues.

Meeting Place: Kingsmeadows Car Park, Peebles (KCP). Please refer to the walk programme for times (we no longer have a regular meeting time of 10am, some of the walks start earlier). Please let the leader know if you intend to join a walk at the start or another place (parking may be limited).

Lunch: Bring a packed lunch unless otherwise stated.

Transport: We suggest a contribution (per passenger) to fuel costs, of £1 for round trips up to 20 miles, £2 for round trips of up to 40 miles, £3 for up to 60 miles. For longer trips, drivers should calculate a fair donation on actual fuel cost.

Dogs: We regret that dogs are not allowed on our walks.
