Group name: Garstang & District
This group is a part of Mid Lancashire Area.
All our groups help local people enjoy walking and protect the places we all love to walk. Most groups organise regular walks led by local experts – a great way to get outside, make new friends and discover how walking boosts your health and happiness. You’re very welcome to try walking with us, or to get involved in looking after paths and green spaces and opening up new places to explore.
This group has a long and successful history but over time it has become difficult to maintain it's level of activitiy, particularly with the impact of Covid-19. Click HERE for more history.
In due course it is hoped to re-generate the group but in the meantime the group is changing to a simpler "format" known as a "Flexigroup" which operates at a more basic level.
All new and existing members have full access to all Rambler walks throughout the UK and in particular can access any local walks (Known as "Mid Lancashire Area") through the Mid Lancs site (HERE).
Members will still receive information and resources via the Mid Lancs Area.
(Once Covid is resolved we anticipate that there will be a return to about 35 walks/month in the Area)
A certain amount of footpath activity continues and anyone interested should contact Bryan via the Contact page (HERE), or for further general information on Garstang group contact Carol via the contact page. (HERE).
Should you be interested in playing an active role in the group, please do contact someone in the Contact page. (HERE)
From time to time Garstang walks may still be provided and will appear on this page bottom right and on the Group website (HERE)
