• Wellingborough Ramblers were formed in 1991 and are comprised of a friendly group of local people who organise regular walks of differing lengths to suit all levels of ability. Walking is a great way to experience ‘the great outdoors’, socialise with others, build stamina, increase well-being and build fitness in a gradual and gentle way.


  • Our walks’ schedule is both comprehensive and varied, with gentle-paced morning and afternoon strolls of approximately 4 miles to faster-paced morning walks of 7.5 - 8 miles, evening sorties, and all-day challenges which take in longer distances (up to 10-12 miles). Usual turnout is from 4-25 people at any one time.


  • You are welcome to come along and try us out; after two or three forays, we would hope to convince you to join the Ramblers. Our experienced leaders organise walking ‘Awaydays’; weekly holidays (usually taken in another part of the UK) and annual foreign holidays. We encourage Members to join in our Social events and to take an active part in the group. See our 'Committee Vacancies' link.

If you haven’t walked before, then be sure to start with a distance you can complete easily, before gradually building up to longer and faster-paced walks.
