Refreshments will be available from 10.00am and a 6 mile walk will start at 10:30 for those who wish to participate. Tea/coffee and cake, will be available at 13:30. There will be two speakers, Ramblers Trustee Ronnie Forbes and Iain Robson giving a presentation on AONB.The meeting is scheduled to finish at 16:00.

Enhancement Initiative Fund
The National Grid have a 'Landscape Enhancement Initiative Fund'. Twice a year they ask for applications for funding to reduce the impact of some of their pylons etc. in places of beauty, eg planting trees to screen some pylons or paint them to blend into the countryside more. Our groups help local people enjoy walking and protect the places we all love to walk. Most groups organise regular walks led by local experts – a great way to get outside, make new friends and discover how walking boosts your health and happiness.
The Durham City Group organises walks on Mondays in the summer and on Sunday and Wednesday throughout the year. If you are not already a Ramblers member feel free to come along with us.
Our walks, of about 10 miles, are every Saturday starting at 10am. Please make your way to the start of the walk where the Walks Leader will greet you.

Group aimed primarily at people in their 20s and 30s, but many members are in their 40's and early 50's.
We walk on alternate Sundays and two Wednesdays a month in Northumberland and North Durham. A variety of distances to suit all tastes.
