Spring/Summer Walks Calendar – April 2020 toSeptember 2020
It’s time to produce our next walks programme.A big thank you to all who currently organise walks for the group – we hope that you will be able to contribute to our next programme. We would also welcome and encourage new walk leaders, if you haven’t led a walk before please accept this as a personal invitation to do so. Without sufficient volunteer leaders there is a risk that we may be unable to produce a full programme. The committee are keen to offer training and support to members new to leading walks, we also have a selection of OS maps to help you if necessary. The proposed dates for Saturday and Sunday walks are set out below. As always we would like to include a variety of walks in our new programme. Therefore, we would welcome easy/short walks (5 - 7 miles) and those of a longer distance and/or more challenging nature. Do you have an idea for a walk with a difference, e.g. ‘car free’ (utilising public transport), or perhaps finishing at a pub for an informal meal? If you are unsure about the suitability of an idea please feel free to speak to Wendy or any committee member.
As in the past, we ask you to give at least two dates for your walk. Please be assured that we will endeavour to be as accommodating as possible, but obviously the more flexible you can be the easier it is for us! We are happy for you to submit more than one walk if you wish, but please list them on the form in order of preference.
Please submit details of your walk, by telephone or e-mail, to Wendy (Walks Secretary) as soon as possible and no later than Monday 4th February 2020 so that the programme can be completed, web site updated and emailed out to members in plenty of time.
