Footpath Closure. The closure is of Bridleway 37 in Wistanstow Parish just to the south of Strefford leading up to the very western end of Wenlock Edge. There is an advertised alternative route from Grid Reference SJ445849 some 500 metres further south down the minor road. It is shown as a pecked black line on the O.S. map but it adds nearly a kilometre to any walk, and it joins the ridge route at SJ452855 where the bridleway comes in from opposite Callow Hill. The bridleway is closed for forestry operations for several months.

The walk on 19th May starts from the church in Newcastle on Clun.  Park on grass verge.  Walk will start at 10.15am.
Walking poles highly recommended.

Roger Ford's walk in the Bishop Castle area on Tuesday 21st May is down in the programme as 8.5 miles moderate. Having walked the route last week Roger thinks colleagues should be aware that it is more like 9 miles and moderate plus.

 
The Church Stretton to Ratlinghope & back walk advertised on Sunday 26th May  12. miles moderate plus  led by Darren Hall has been reduced 8 miles moderate plus due to Darren recovering from a heavy cold.The walk will commence from Easthope Car Park go through Rectory Wood, Carding Mill Valley, Lightspout, Polebank, Ashes Hollow, and return via the sculptures at the back of the Long Mynd Hotel.. Mostly moderate but strenuous in places.
