Group name: Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire
This group is a part of South Yorks & N.E.Derbyshire Area.
Our activities include:
Path maintenance, Short and easy walks
Our groups help local people enjoy walking and protect the places we all love to walk. Most groups organise regular walks led by local experts – a great way to get outside, make new friends and discover how walking boosts your health and happiness. You’re very welcome to try walking with us, or to get involved in looking after paths and green spaces and opening up new places to explore.
A Group that does what it says - organises in excess of 350 walks per annum accessible to people in the Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire area. From short to long, car to bus, easy to strenuous, linear or circular, joint walks with Sight Support Derbyshire etc.- you name it we do it. Please see chesterfieldramblers.org.uk and chesterfieldramblers.com for more details. You can even follow us on Facebook or send us a tweet. A free taster walk costs you nothing.
We welcome new walkers but please be aware that many of our walks are in the Peak District and the terrain can be steep and rocky and at times muddy. The weather can change suddenly so you will need suitable clothing and equipment. The vast majority of our walks do not stop at cafes or pubs so you will also need to bring a packed lunch, flask, water and snack for elevenses. The longest walks may last up to 6 hours. If you are not sure what you need please check with the leader before the walk to avoid putting yourself or others at risk and to ensure that you are able to enjoy the walk.

CHANGE DUE TO COVID
There is no limit to the number of walkers allowed on walks and from the 1st October we are not requiring people to book onto walks in advance. The only time you will need to book is if the walk leader wants to limit the numbers on a walk. This will be indicated on Walksfinder. There is however still a requirement to take a register of people attending a walk for Track and Track, so you will need to give your name and a telephone number to the walk leader. Please arrive at the start point in good time to allow this to be completed and for the walk to begin on time.
