As you may already be aware Ramblers Association will be providing a series of free full-day Walks Leadership training courses and two have now been scheduled for the coming months in Worcestershire.
Each course is designed specifically for potential and existing volunteer Walks Leaders and will guide them to develop the skills and confidence needed to plan and lead inspiring group walks. Both new and existing walk leaders are welcome to attend – no prior knowledge or experience is necessary. The courses will cover the roles and responsibilities of a Walk Leader, the practicalities of planning and leading a walk and some of the scenarios that may be encountered during a walk. Additionally, the programme will include looking at how your walks are promoted, insurance and much more.
There will be plenty of time to ask questions and share experiences and ideas with your fellow Walk Leaders! Weather permitting, it is expected that the course will include an 'outside' practical walking exercise for about 1.5 hours duration in the afternoon.
It is anticipated that courses will commence at 9.30am and finish at approximately 4.30pm.
The course is free including tea/coffee and biscuits and (reasonable) travel expenses will be reimbursed to participants, but it will be necessary to take a packed lunch.
The two training days for our area are as follows (venues are tbc):
July 8th Worcester (TBC) 26th Sept (location TBC)
