Festival of Winter Walks 2018 - Report
The Ramblers Festival of Winter Walks is a regular feature over the festive period, it ran from Saturday 23rd December to Sunday 6th January. In support of this event Evesham ramblers organised and published four walks. The walks were free and everyone was welcome to join in. The first of the walks was from Bidford on Saturday 23 December and the weather was not at all encouraging, nevertheless eight walker turned up and enjoyed a dry but dull morning walk along the river. Sunday 31 December, the walk was an iconic Broadway Tower route starting from the lovely church of St Edbugha’s notorious for its history of graveyard body snatching. The third of the festive walks was on New Year’s Day and the route went up to Parsons Folly on the top of Bredon Hill, 23 walkers donned their boots and wellies and came along. The final walk from the delightful village of Ebrington in the Cotswolds saw a whopping 27 people get together for a 5.5 mile route with stunning views of Foxcote Manor and the surrounding Cotswold Hills. Sincere thanks to all the fantastic leaders and walkers for making this event such a great success.
