Walking with us

Worcester Ramblers programme of walks is available on our website where walks are added as and when submitted by our leaders. It is essential to visit often to ensure you don't miss out! Walks are also published a week ahead on our Facebook page

  • Weekday walks are mostly on Thursday, but sometimes on other days, generally the walk will be a morning walk (5-7 miles) often with a pub lunch at the end. However, any member can offer to lead a walk of any length or on any day that they choose.

  • Saturday walks are usually a full day walk of about 9 -12 mile where walkers take their packed lunch and pop into a pub or tea shop for refreshments afterwards.

  • Evening walks in the summer are usually 4 - 5 miles and finish at a pub for refreshments.

  • Over Christmas and New Year, our leaders support the Ramblers Festival of Winter Walks by offering a wide variety of walks in our local area especially to offer opportunities for new walkers to join in. Occasionally special interest walks are arranged, recent ones have  been Geology, nature, interesting pubs themed walks.

  • Long distance trails whereby we walk a section a time typically on a monthly basis, using coach travel, are a regular feature and usually a different one every year,.Our trail route for 2019 was the 100 miles between Chepstow Castle and Tewksbury, In 2018 we completed the 80 mile Wyche Way trail, forming a continuity with the Herefordshire trail and the Cotswold Way, the trails we completed in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

  • We also usually do a national trail over a 5 -8 day period each year. In 2016 it was the Dales Way, 2017, the Cumbria Way and in 2018, the South Downs Way.

  • On local walks in the Worcester area walkers enjoy hidden historic gems around the city as well as an interesting network of waterways, parks and nature reserves.

The nearby Malvern Hills offer breath taking views to Wales, and less than an hour away  we can be delighting in the Cotswolds, Warwickshire, Gloucestershire and Shropshire.

It’s easy to join in.
Select a walk to suit your abilities, if unsure take a look at the walks grading or contact the walk leader to check a few days before. Turn up at the meeting place about ten minutes before the walk commences. Walkers are usually noticeable by raised car tailgates whilst putting on their boots. Introduce yourself to anyone and they will direct you to the leader. In the interest of safety you will be required to add contact details to a walk register before leaving. Ensure that you bring sufficient drink, food and clothing for the length of walk and weather conditions
