We are the Penrith Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
The route closely follows the course of the river Eamont, crossing it twice. It starts with a series of signed pedestrian crossings from the railway station to the edge of the town, then follows a series of signed footpaths, bridleways and ‘permitted paths’ to exit at ‘The Sun Inn’ in Pooley Bridge.
The walk starts at Penrith Railway Station. There is no additional meeting point but those who wish to, can park in Penrith Rugby Club Car Park and walk to the station, there are alternative places to park for those who do not live in town.
The return from Pooley Bridge will be on the 14.46 bus from Pooley Bridge, arriving at Penrith Bus Station at 15.04.
