This walk will follow the Thames Path from Reading to Windsor. Rescheduled from 22nd July due to the rail strike on that day.
This is a joint walk with Chiltern Young Walkers, Hike Oxfordshire and Surrey Young Walkers. Advance booking is not required, but if you plan on attending this walk, please indicate this on Meetup if you can (see Website link), so others can see that there will be plenty of people going.
Pace: fast.
Walk details
What better way to celebrate my 30th birthday than with a 30 mile challenge? We will step across time on the Thames Path from Reading, heading across 30 years of adventure. Will you make it? Will the walk leaders make it? No fear, there will be multiple drop-out points along the path, from which you can later join us at the Survivors’ pub (venue TBD in Windsor) for a celebratory drink (and possibly a well-deserved dinner if the walk leader isn't unconscious…) To prepare for the challenge, we will also be leading a series of fun training walks from January to June. Each month we will be building up the distance, starting at 8.5 miles and ending in 23 miles before the big day.
More details will be posted closer to the date, so watch this space!
