This is a figure of 8 walk from the village of Goodworth Clatford. The morning walk is 6.4 miles and we will visit part of Harewood Forest, the attractive village of Wherwell, and walk alongside a stretch of the River Anton. There are some picturesque downland views, and several woodland paths. The ground was firm on the recce. There is one stile, and several inclines, plus a steep (but short) downward slope (so please remember poles if you use them), and a couple of short sections on quiet roads. There is an option to eat in the Clatford Arms for lunch or enjoy a picnic by the river. After lunch, those with the inclination can enjoy an easy 1.3 mile walk locally around Goodworth Clatford, which will be completed in time to enable those who wish attend the Ramblers AGM to make the short journey there by 2.45pm. As usual, any significant rain beforehand could cause some patches of muddy ground.
Please let the leader know if you intend to come, and also if you wish to eat in the pub.
