Overview

The walk will start in the Aber falls lower car park and take in Drum, Foel Fras and we will pass Moel Wnion before heading to Aber Falls.

The total ascent will be 3861 ft and will be challenging for the first 7.2 miles where we will do all our ascent. 

The second half of the walk will be more moderate.

total distance will be around 14.5 miles.

If the weather is bad there will be an alternative route of around 14 miles at a lower altitude and taking into account a coastal walk.

During the walk there will be many opportunities to take in the fantastic views (weather permitting).

The only difficult section will be navigating across piles of stones and boulders in one area. Sure footing will be required and boots preferably required to protect ankles.

The car park will take both cash and card and will be £5 for the full day. The car park area before the bridge is the best place to park. However, for those who wish to pay by card the car park over the bridge only takes card payment. Best to park before the bridge and use the pay machine in the other car park.

Travel along the A55 and leave at the Abergwyngregyn exit and follow signs for Rhaedr Fawr (Aber Falls). Follow the lane through the village, eventually reaching a narrow bridge, go over and immeditaely turn right. The car park is 300 metres further.
