A lovely walk along the ridge between Merthyr and Cynon Valleys, with excellent scenery.
Following a gradual climb out of Abercynon, we reach the ridge which leads us to the Giant's Bite, a dramatic gap in the skyline quarried from the ridge top at the former Cefn Glas mine & quarry.
We visit a trig, the mast, then descend through woodland to the river Cynon on our return.
We need to cross the A4059, which sometimes can be busy and there are a couple of awkward stiles.
Please contact the walk leader for the start point (Members of our group receive an internal email with the start details).
