We start in the centre of Abingdon and walk out through the Abbey along the Abbey stream to cross the weir to the Lock. We continue along the Oxford Greenbelt Way by the Thames which then takes us round the back of Culham Science park on Thame lane. From here we leave the Way and head to Clifton Hampden and the towering Church of St Michael and All Angels over looking the Thames. We pass under the Red Brick bridge which originally joined Berkshire to Oxfordshire but since 1974 is totally in Oxfordshire. Using the Thames path at Culham cut we head to Culham then on to Sutton Courtney where we visit All Saints Church the last resting place of George Orwell. We now head back to The Thames path at Sutton pool and the Archimedes screw hydro power scheme and the final walk into Abingdon over the ancient bridge.
