Overview

Leaving the car park we'll head towards Haresfield Beacon, but instead of climbing to the top we'll stick to a lower path before dropping down to the hamlet of Oxlynch. We'll then go up the other side of the valley to reach the Cotswold Way in Standish Woods, perhaps passing some of the Gloucester cattle which provide the milk for the famous Jonathan Crump cheeses. Leaving the Cotswold Way near the old Bird in Hand pub, we'll drop down into Pitchcombe Woods and continue onto Edge Common before eventually rejoining the Cotswold Way all the way back  to the carpark, this time actually passing over the Beacon. It's an undulating walk with lots of woodland and some wonderful views. As much of it is on the Cotswold Way it should be passable although there is almost certainly going to be some mud. Some stiles, but not too many.
