We are the Uttlesford Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
All day walk from the Silver Ball Cafe, Reed (on the A10 London Road, near Royston).
[Note: The Silver Ball Cafe is open from 7.00 a.m., serving hearty Truckers breakfasts.]
Morning walk of 6 miles to the Chequers Pub at Barley for an optional pub lunch. The lunch menu will be circulated for booking by the previous Saturday. Non-diners may wish to explore the village. There is a village shop for alternative food/drink provisions.
The return leg is 4.5 miles for a total of approx. 10.5 miles.
People wishing to do only the morning walk could arrange car shuttling, leaving one car parked in the by-road behind the Chequers pub.
