Walk Friday 24 May 2024 Alport Height

To save time on the day and the grouping of people together to hear the details of the risk assessment, here it is in writing. 4.7 miles. Five stiles on this walk. Half mile of descent to start, One climb on the return.

Risk assessment

Sheep and perhaps some cattle in fields, Dogs on Leads Please.

Some minor road walking, half mile down-hill to start, take care, keep right and in single file, whilst traffic approaching, plus some very short stretches of minor roads. Morning break at Kennel Wood, Alderwasley. Take care on field paths, some are overgrown and quite rugged in places. Loose rocks here and there, tripping hazard. As we start at the highest point and descend quite quickly the way back is mostly of a steady ascent.
