A walk with Sue from  Halfpenny Bridge  going via Shining Cliff Woods/Alderwasley/Whatstandwell

To include a Climb through Shining Cliff woods, descend to Alderwasley, a slight detour to St Margaret’s Chapel. Continue through fields then descend to Whatstandwell and return via the canal path.

Parking at Halfpenny Bridge (Holly Lane) over River Derwent. Parking is mostly on the left but is limited. Or if you prefer, alternative parking in the Ambergate railway station (pay and display £2.50) and walk to start point. (10 minute walk). The return route will pass close to the railway station. for those who park there.
