The Ardudwy way is a high level, way marked trail from Barmouth in the South to Llandecwyn in the North. It is divided into three sections. Today we are completing the third and final northern section from Harlech to Llandecwyn. We will be taking the bus from Llandecwyn to Harlech where our walk starts just above the castle. This is a long walk with considerable height gain and although most of our route is on good paths and some very quiet lanes, there may be very boggy sections. It is however a spectacular walk with amazing views down over the coast and of the mountains of the Rhinogydd range, along with views of the higher mountains of north Snowdonia. On our walk today we travel along a Bronze Age track to the Bronze Age stone circle of Bryn Cader Faner, then through old oak woods where, with some luck, those with keen eyes may spot pied flycatchers, woodpeckers or bats. We travel on to Llyn Tecwyn Isaf where the water lilies attract dragonflies and damselflies. Just before finishing our walk we turn sharply up to Llandecwyn church then on passed Llyn Tecwyn Uchaf before heading left back down to the main road.
