Overview

Walking the country paths and lanes around Narborough you’ll be in a very rural, quiet part of West Norfolk, where the River Nar runs through. Here’s what you can expect:

  • The River Nar and its water meadows – a chalk stream with clear water, sometimes with willows, alders, and reeds along the banks.
  • Birds: skylarks singing overhead, buzzards circling, pheasants in the fields, woodpeckers in woodland, and sometimes red kites.
  • Expect it to be peaceful, with big skies (like much of Norfolk), and that special “Norfolk quietness” — punctuated by birdsong, the wind in the trees, and the occasional tractor.
