There is a train back to Ashurst at 16:14 hours which allows 9 minutes to change trains at Brockenhurst.

For people who want to travel from Lymington to the start of the walk there is a train at 09:14 which arrives at Ashurst at 09:43.

There is also a bus service between Lymington and Ashurst, Bluestar bus number 6 but this is only every 2 hours and does not start until later in the morning.
