Our walk starts by the Visitors Centre at Attenborough Nature Reserve. From there we parallel the Nottingham to Derby railway line south west then switch south to join the path along the River Trent. We follow the River for a while, then take a cut through back to near the railway. The final section takes us through Attenborough Village and back to the Visitors Centre.
This is a flat walk with just 70 ft of ascent, one of my Flat 5 Series. There are no stiles and the paths are well made. If there has been a lot of recent rain, some parts of the route may be muddy. There will be an opportunity to see a variety of birds as we walk the route.
There is no need to book onto this walk, just turn up and join us. There will be a drinks stop during the walk.
There is a large car park by the visitors centre with a charge of £3.00. Members of the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust can park for free. Please car share wherever possible (if you wish to offer a lift or need one, please email me).
Public transport options: various buses from Long Eaton and Nottingham stop on Nottingham Road which is 0.5 miles away.
Well behaved dogs are welcome to come on this walk. Please ensure your dog is on a lead at all times as we pass through a nature reserve.
After the walk, you are welcome to join me for a drink or snack at the visitors centre.
