A walk divided pretty equally between the towpaths of the Grand Union Canal and quiet lanes and fields.
On the plus side, very little incline, pretty views, a chance for house envy AND on the recce I saw a Kingfisher!
On the debit side;
7 stiles in a row ... the final one of which is a tad dilapidated. (Doable, we may just need to send someone with long legs over that stile first to give a bit of a hand.)
(For anyone nervous of horses) One field has horses... they were perfectly calm and obviously VERY used to walkers going by, but they are there, watching you go over a stile.
Its muddy!!
We start at Baddesley Clinton National Trust Car Park, head across a couple of fields to Rising Bridge, then North along the towpath to Bakers Lane Bridge. After a short stretch of lane (and house envy) we head South across fields, past Chessets Wood, then, still heading south, onto the Millenium Way. (This is the short stretch with stiles and horses)
We find ourselves back at Rising Bridge, and continue south once again on the towpath to Kingswood Bridge. Then we pick up the Heart of England Way across fields back to Baddersley Clinton.
Park at Baddesley Clinton National Trust Car Park.
This is free, but if you have a NT membership card, please pop in and swipe it either before or after the walk ... they get funding for each visitor.
Theres a coffee shop at the property for any NT members ... OR, if anyone wants to eat lunch, we are not too far from the Fleur De Lys in Lowsonford.
