Overview

A pleasant circular walk from Barnt Green station. Meet bottom of Station Drive at junction of Hewell Road. Mainly moderate going, one longish climb near outset. A few styles, all manageable. No official toilets until we return to Barnt Green centre.

We head right up Hewell Road - the main "High St " of Barnt Green, under railway bridge and turn left into fields. We go uphill for a few hundred yards, exit the first field and cross the motorway by a modern bridge. Another field, then about  ¼ mile along a quiet lane before we turn into fields towards Withybed Green, with lovely views of the countryside here. We get on to the canal the other side of the hamlet and continue a while. Under an old brick bridge and up wooden stairs to exit the canal. We go through a commercial area into fields to Upper Brittell Reservoir We turn right at the end of the water along a wooded path , into fields returning to the "other end" of Barnt Green . Shops, cafe etc.
