As the forecast for tomorrow hasn’t changed, we are going to cancel our walk. Heavy rain early tomorrow might make travelling to the area difficult & the prolonged rain throughout the day might make it harder to get home as well. Low cloud with poor visibility & rain all day will also make the walk less than pleasant!
We are the Berwick Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This is a more strenuous walk mostly on grassy tracks, providing spectacular all round views, following established paths.
We leave Belford on Bowmont, following the track passing Seefew cottage to join The Street. The route follows The Street for several miles before joining The Pennine Way for a short distance.
We then head down Windy Rig on grassy tracks towards the hillforts called The Castles. The path descends to Calroust and then back to Belford on Bowmont.
