Overview

A beautiful spring walk to see the blue bells in Bellburn Wood. Most of the walk is along old railway paths and some field paths. We will need to cross a couple of minor but busy roads and there is a short section of road walking. There were some boggy patches on the recce so waterproof boots and gaiters recommended. The right of way through one field is difficult to follow due to some bricks and concrete slabs on the path, so we will need to walk slightly to the right of it on rather uneven ground. There were horses at a distance in one field, and cattle in an adjacent field with a gap in the fence, also lots of sheep with lambs, so no dogs allowed on this walk.
