From the car park we will walk along the town's riverside then head up through woods and meadows towards Park End. From here we will descend to Long Bank where we cross the main road and enter the Wyre Forest. We will have our lunch by Knowles Mill, alongside Dowles Brook in this ancient woodland. We will follow the brook right down to the River Severn. We will then walk alongside the river past meadows, back to the town.
The first mile and a half is undulating, after which it is mainly downhill or on the level. Much of the waqlk is in pleasant woodland. We will use woodland and riverside paths, tracks and a short section of main road pavement..
There are toilets at the start. There are no stiles.
There are many opportunites for drinks and ice creams at pubs and cafes by the bridge.
