This walk has been cancelled

Unfortunately, the planned walk tomorrow cannot go ahead as the footbridge at the Braan underpass connecting Dunkeld to Inver and The Hermitage has been destroyed during storm Babet. This means there is no safe pedestrian access across the A9.

Overview

We will walk this circuit in a clockwise direction, climbing Birnam Hill before returning to the Inchewan path. We will continue past Balhomish to Rumbling Bridge, an old stone bridge high above a dramatic gorge with waterfalls below. We will then explore the beautiful wooded glen of the Hermitage which will hopefully be ablaze with Autumn colours. After this we'll head to, and then along the banks of the River Tay where we will pass the ancient Birnam Oak & Sycamore trees before returning to the start.
