Walsall Group of Ramblers has been around since 1992 and in that time we've introduced many people to the joys and benefits of walking with the Ramblers
The walk explores the lesser-walked North and West section of the Stiperstones. Passing through Bergum Wood and onto a green lane we steadily climb to the summit of Green Hill then onto Blakemoorflat with great views of the rugged landscape. We then loop around Lordshill onto Brook Vessons Nature Reserve, a wildlife haven with at times quite vague paths! After lunch at Blakemoorgate cottages, we first climb to Shepherd's Rock before descending to Tankerville where we pass its historic lead mine before returning to the start. Joint walk with Sandwell Ramblers and Wolverhampton Ramblers.
We leave the meeting point in Walsall promptly at 08:30am. The start time is the time the actual walk is due to start.
We regret we cannot allow dogs other than assistance dogs on weekend Walsall Group walks.
Personal medication, e.g. asthma inhalers and angina sprays, must be carried by the walkers themselves.
All walkers should carry an ICE card or a contact number in case of emergency.
Booking is not necessary for this walk.
Walkers will need a packed lunch.

Parking area at bend in road between Stiperstones Village and Tankerville. Leave Walsall by M54, at end of motorway keep ahead on A5, at first island take first exit (signed NORTH WALES, Shrewsbury, Leominster), at Dobbies Island second exit (NORTH WALES, LLangollen, Oswestry) to rejoin A5, at A488 island take first exit (A488 Bishop's Castle), follow A488 through Pontesbury and Minsterley then turn L at crossroads (signed Snailbeach, Stiperstones), follow road through Stiperstones village to parking area inside LH bend opposite postbox.
