An initial steep and lengthy climb is rewarded by fine views over Abergavenny and the hills beyond. Descending to the Brecon Canal, the return is along sections of the canal and woodland above. Walking is through woods, quiet lanes and across moorland, with a number of stiles.
For those not going directly to the start, we will be meeting at Wilton Road car park in Ross-on-Wye at 8:50am for car sharing.
Please contact Mark, preferably by text, to book a place on the walk.
Parking is limited at the car park in Llanfoist, so car sharing is strongly recommended.
There are two fallen trees, which require crouching to get under and we possibly might need to ford streams. There are also several stiles, some of which are in poor condition. Bring walking poles, if you use them. Don't forget to bring a packed lunch and plenty of water. Sorry, no dogs please.
