We are the Northumbria Short Circuit Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Please meet in the Low House Wood car park at the South corner of the lake (see map). Bolam Lake is just over two miles north of Belsay off the A696. Car park charges apply (£4 for the day in coins).
Toilets can be found a short walk from our car park at Boat House Wood car park.
This is a lovely varied walk through woods, over fields and tracks and an incline up to the Crags where we will have lunch. There will be short sections of uneven paths between grain fields and possible muddy rocky areas in one wood and behind the crags and up an incline at Salters Nick.
Boots and sticks are suggested.
After Salters Nick we walk across the moor, track, short section on the road before returning to our car park via the lake and woods.
At the end of the walk a coffee shop can be found in Boat House car park or you could try the Blacksmith's Coffee Shop in Belsay.
