Overview

A level walk taking in the Glasson branch of the Lancaster canal, farmland, an airfield and the Lancashire Coastal Way via Cockersand Abbey.

Sunday, 22 June 2025
Start time:
10:00 am
Estimated finish time:
4:00 pm
Difficulty:
Moderate
Distance:
17.7km / 11.0mi
Ascent:
91.4m / 300ft
Type:
circular

The car park is pay and display, usually card only. When you get to The Stork Hotel, follow Corricks Lane in front of the pub to reach the car park, which has public toilets.

Note: The card reader for the pay and display was not working recently, so it is recommended that you have the RingGo parking app on your phone in order to pay (make sure you have your RingGo account password available on the day too). There is also a phone number displayed on the p & d information board which you can ring to pay by card over the phone but I believe this is more time-consuming. Please allow a little extra time to sort your parking fees out. At least it’s only £1.20 all day!

Walk unsuitable for dogs.
