Overview

This walk takes us through Briton Ferry Forest, passing above Baglan.

We start with a gradual climb up to Cefn Cwrt reservoir and continue on fairly good forest tracks in the main.

After lunch it's downhill all the way, returning to the car park via the old mineral railway line known locally as The Incline.

Good old NPT Borough Council have removed the fallen tree that was blocking the path earlier in the year.

Weather permitting, there should be some good views over Swansea Bay in one direction and the Afan Valley in the other when we come out of the forested area.

One short section is usually very muddy and there are loose stones underfoot on others which may need extra care on. Walking poles may be helpful if you them.

Jersey Park itself is worth a visit if anyone feels like having a look around before heading off home.
