This is a strenuous circular walk, exploring the hills lying to the east of the village of Broughton. On a good day it should afford us stunning views. We will take in Broughton Heights itself before returning over Hammer Head and Trahenna Hill.
The walk will start by following the John Buchan Way before taking the path up to the summit of Broughton Heights. We will then return to take the steep and narrow path through the heather up Hammer Head before following the ridge to Trahenna Hill. We will descend on a steep grassy track back to the valley, and following the path back to the car park.
