Starting from the large layby in Pencelli we head up towards Blaennant Farm before taking a right turn up towards the Bryn. After about another 30 minutes, we will stop for coffee with great views over to Llangors Lake. We then approach the Bryn by ascending along the side of the hill which greatly reduces the difficlty of this walk. We will stop for lunch either on top of the Bryn or on our way back down towards TalyBont forest. We eventually join the Usk Valley walk and arrive back in Pencelli via Cornwall farm
The Royal Oak pub is near the layby and we often stop there as a group after the walk. In the event of any traffic delays, please phone me at once so that we can discuss your options. The walk is very rewarding and has spectacular views of PenyFan, the Black Mountains and Llangors Lake. We will not be rushing the walk, most abilities will cope with a degree of application! Even in summer, boots with good ankle support are recommended due to the uneven nature of the ground.
