Overview

Our route takes us over Kingston Bridge into Bushy Park and the Woodland Gardens via  Upper Lodge Water Gardens; it follows parts of Section 9 of the London Loop.  After lunch we continue south to Home Park and the Long Water, then head for Kingston station along the Thames' Barge Walk.

The terrain is a mix of paved and earth paths; may be very muddy in places and there are some steep steps. One or two drop out points earlier on in the walk.  There may be deer in the park and dogs are not allowed in the Woodland Gardens.

No toilets on the train;  the facilities at Kingston station (platform 2) are being refurbished and may not be open.  Toilets in Kingston shopping centre before and after the walk and in the Woodland Gardens during lunch.

Lunch:  snack or picnic in the Woodlands Gardens; cafe, kiosk.  Many eateries in Kingston at the end of the walk.

Train: Kingston Railway station (Zone 6) is served by South Western Railway. London Waterloo 9:57; Clapham Junction 10:06; Arr 10:25.
