The route starts in Dol Idirs and takes us first up the gorge walk. This is a short steep and stepped section through the woods and follow the route of the stream, so great views of small waterfalls. We then head up towards Llyn Cau before another short steep section taking us up onto Craig Cwm Amarch. We then descend down to the Bwlch before the final push up to the summit of Cadair Idris and the Trig point and Bothe. We then head across to Mynydd Moel before heading down to rejoin the top of the Gorge walk and back to the start.
The start point is to the right of the toilet block in the car park by the gate,. Parking will cost £6 for the day. Cash is not always accepted in the pay machine, so take card as well. There is a small cafe at the start of the walk but it is not always open, so don't rely on it for supplies.
This walk will be subject to weather conditions and subject to change as per any dynamic risk assessments on the day
