Overview

The walk starts from the car park within the walls of the ancient Roman town of Venta Silvrvm (modern Caerwent), next to the extant remains of Roman shops and houses. The route then takes footpaths across fields to Slade Wood, with views over the Severn Estuary, before returning to Caerwent.
