This is a delightful walk along good paths and tracks through woodland, fields, meadows and a golf course. There are some great views as we walk the ridge high above Calverton and pass Fox Wood. Once past Ramsdale Hill, we walk through the golf course and then onwards to Foxcover Plantation. We wander through the woods including Watchwood Plantation. Further on, we go through Oxton Bogs – on good dry paths! After Gorse Covert we reach Oxton where we may well stop to quench our thirst at the pub. From there, we take an almost straight-line path back to Calverton passing Thorndale Plantation en route. A great walk!
There are some steepish inclines. So, if it’s really hot, the inclines plus the length of the walk may make this slightly more challenging. Make sure you have plenty of water.
Stops and a picnic will be taken as and when appropriate on the day.
We will stop for a picnic.
