Meet Ipswich Railway Station in time to catch 8.41 to Stratford, then Jubilee Line to Canada Water where we will stop for breakfast. Walk will then start at 10.45 from Deal Porter Square. Distance in total will be approx 7 miles but you will have the option to leave us after 4 miles at Hays Galleria where we will stop for lunch, or after 6 miles at London Bridge to explore Borough Market, The George pub and Southwark Cathedral. I recommend buying an Off Peak Return ticket to Liverpool Street, but if you wish to specify trains the walk will finish approximately 16.30. Think of it as a sightseeing day out visiting historic and modern landmarks in Rotherhithe, Bermondsey and Southwark such as Mayflower pub and St Mary's church, Ada Salters cat, Thames Tideway, Jacob the Dray horse, Shad Thames, Gillie and Marc wildlife sculptures, Octavia Hill's Red Cross garden, Crossbones graveyard plus so much more.
Distances are based on walking in a relatively straight line between stops, allow extra if you zig zag or dance around. Train connections leave Woodbridge 08.17 and Stowmarket 08.29 but please check as times may be different on new Summer timetable. There are no public toilets but many eating establishments at Canada Water and Hays Galleria which will allow use of facilities for the price of a cup of coffee.
