Overview

Start from the long layby east of Lyn Ogwen on the A5. The meeting point will be the lake end of the lay by

Start with a walk up the waterfalls to the summit or Pen yr Ole Wen, (short scramble) then along the ridge to the Cairn on Carnedd Fach, we then carry on to Carnedd Dayfydd and Carnedd Llewelyn, before dropping down to Bwlch Eryi Farhog and the short scramble to the slab which we climb down (this is steep and overlooks the Bwlch), from there we carry on along the ridge to the scramble up onto Pen Yr Helgi Du, and then the gentle walk down Y Braich to join the leat and back to the lay by.

You will need comfortable boots that give ankle protection and will grip the rocks for this walk. Due to these scrambles we cannot allow dogs on this walk. This will be a full days walking so plenty of food and drink for the several stops we will be making along the route
